Not all pet stains can be treated the same way. Not all pet odor removal products will work on carpets that have been exposed to pet urine over a period of years. If pets have several accidents over a prolonged period of time, the pad and subfloor likely are saturated with urine, so cleaning the carpet surface is not enough. Your carpet professional should first determine whether the carpet can be saved, or should be replaced. If the carpet can be saved, the proper chemical must be selected based on the fiber and construction of the carpet. Make sure your carpet cleaner is an expert and understands the best techniques for pet stain removal.
